In March 2021, the Tasmanian Government announced that the Sexual Assault Support Service (SASS) has been engaged to deliver the Harmful Sexual Behaviours Program.
Under Safe Homes, Families and Communities, the Tasmania Government committed to deliver a statewide harmful sexual behaviours program for children and young people up to 17 years displaying problem sexual behaviours and sexually abusive behaviours (Action 9).
The action was a response to a service system gap identified by stakeholders as a priority during the consultation to inform the development of Safe Homes, Families and Communities.
SASS currently provides a range of services for people of all ages who have been affected by any form of sexual violence and has significant experience in delivering therapeutic interventions to children and young people displaying harmful sexual behaviours.
The program commenced on 1 April 2021 and is now open for referrals.
For more information, please visit the SASS website, or contact SASS on 6231 0044.
